SHIFT is free for the athlete, the club and the company. The backer pays a 6% platform fee on top of their pledge, so every pound they pledge reaches the split they chose. The fee covers card processing, payouts and running the platform.

Cancellation and refunds
- Nothing is charged until after race day
- A pledge saves the backer's card with Stripe. No money moves until the official result is in.
- Conditional pledges that miss are never charged
- If the athlete's share was 'only if they hit the goal' and they don't, that share and its fee are dropped.
- Athlete takes the page down before race day
- Every pledge on it is cancelled and nobody is charged.
- Race cancelled
- Backers can withdraw. The athlete has 60 days to name a same-distance replacement race.
- Something went wrong after a charge
- Email sam@useshift.app within 14 days and we'll put it right, including a refund where one is due.
- Leaving SHIFT
- Delete your account from Account in your dashboard. Live pages close and uncharged pledges are released.
